A fairytale in the Forest
We entered through a wooden gatehouse and onto a wooden walkway that led deep into the Finnish forest. Our faces were bright with excitement, and with every step, the butterflies in our bellies fluttered faster. Amid the dappled shadows, the walk through this threshold felt endless.
Then suddenly, we stepped into a clearing. There were wooden buildings connected by wooden walkways, nestled among the ancient crystalline bedrock that pokes out from the soil. Some familiar faces were already there, making flower arrangements, laying the tables, and sweeping the wooden decks. We hugged, laughed, and joined in with the preparations.
Slowly, the guests arrived, all with expressions of wonder and with love shining from their hearts. People who had heard of each other met for the first time, others reunited after years, and of course, close friends and family greeted each other in the light of this special gathering.
Indrek and Lea wanted not only to celebrate their love in union but also to have a party for all the love between us. There was dancing, and there was singing. We shared food and drink, told stories, and celebrated the happy couple.
The day ended in nudity, as you would expect in Finland. The sauna was burning hot, the tub was icy cold, and with a drink in my hand, we ended this unforgettable day in a jacuzzi, with fairy lights in the trees, dressed in the entire universe.
